This collection of lessons is perfect for the beginner sewist, or someone who has dabbled, but a long time ago!
This Oxford-based tuition is designed to be hands-on, experimental and most of all fun. I want to take you on an eye-opening journey to explore a variety of techniques in a supportive and friendly way. Whether you’d like to try out industrial machinery (there is an industrial straight stitch machine and overlocker here to use) or prefer to bring your own machine to practice on, all options are available.

INTRODUCTION TO SEWING
Private lesson
Over 4 hours you’ll learn the basic fundamentals of sewing, including different seam types, setting up your machine, and toileing a simple top pattern. Fall in love with sewing!

Over 4 hours you’ll learn how to alter an existing pattern of your choice to develop creative design details AND a better fit, creating a truly unique garment!

Over 5 hours you’ll learn how to create a simple top pattern from scratch to your measurements, make a mock up and trial any alterations needed to make it fit perfectly!

INTRODUCTION TO DRAPING
Private lesson
Over 4 hours, learn the fundamentals of how to create a beautiful top, dress or skirt on the stand with a collection of draping techniques. You’ll use fabric, pins and pattern tape on the mannequin to create a working draped pattern.
